Greetings in the name of Christ!

I have been rereading the book Basic Christianity by John Stott. I went through Bishop Lowry’s Brown Bag Bible Study a few years ago where he broke this book down, chapter by chapter. It was a phenomenal study. Things Bishop said and remarks I remember from the book just kept coming back to my mind this week.

I believe this time of “uncertainty” with Covid-19 is challenging and stretching all of us- as a nation, as individuals, as Christians, as communities of faith, and certainly, as pastors. Whether you are turning to high-tech methods or phone calls, snail mail, and knocking door-to-door…it’s a new day for us in ministry.

However, I believe it’s a day that those who came before us and paved the way saw as well. I believe it is pushing us back to our roots of being innovative and courageous in leading souls to Christ. And in the midst of chaos, I am excited for what is to come—like the resurrection after the darkness!

So remember…as we wade these waters, remember that we do not tread alone. Our great cloud of witnesses stands firm—and best of all, God is with us!

Blessings to all,
Pastor Amy
